Can You Do Document Attestation from Pakistan

Can You Do Document Attestation from Pakistan?

No! You cannot do document attestation from Pakistan online; however, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan offers to courier the documents to their office. The documents sent through the courier to the ministry take about 45 days to receive back the attested documents. The courier of the documents does not mean that they are being attested online. By the process of courier, you send the physical documents to the office for the purpose of attestation. If you are in Pakistan, you will not require any document to be attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from any embassy. No such attestation is required when you are in Pakistan. This attestation is required only when you are abroad or when you want to use these documents abroad. In Pakistan, these documents will be issued in the way they are issued. This also applies to an Unmarried Certificate, which is generally used for official purposes abroad.

When Online Attestation is Not Possible:

The online attestation of documents is not possible because the attestation of the documents is not done digitally by the government. Online, you can only send an image or PDF of the document, whereas the attestation requires the affixation of the bar code on the original document and not on any photocopy or image. Once the bar code is affixed on the original certificate, it is valid for your entire life. This is not possible with the attestation on any image or copy of the document. This requirement also applies when processing a Single Certificate which must be attested on the original document

Solution to the Issue:

You cannot do document attestation from Pakistan online, but below is the solution to this issue.

Ø POWER OF ATTORNEY: If you are abroad and cannot come to Pakistan, then the solution for document attestation in Pakistan is to send the power of attorney. You can appoint any person as an attorney on your behalf to represent you in the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get the documents attested. In Pakistan, the lawyers are licensed to represent you in the court of law and in the public offices. Most European countries only accept legal representation through a lawyer. Once you hire the services of a lawyer, the lawyer will himself email you the power of attorney, so you don’t need to draft it yourself.

Ø HIRE THE SERVICES OF A LAWYER / AGENT:

You can also hire the services of a lawyer or an agent for the attestation of documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from any embassy in Pakistan.
